Eden, latest from French filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve premiered in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival as well as screening at film festivals in New York and London.
Co-written with Hansen-Løve’s older brother Sven, a successful 90s DJ who served as the film’s inspiration, Eden tells the story of Paul (Félix de Givry), a young French disc jockey who pioneered the ‘French touch’ style of electronic dance music that became popular in the nineties.
After her previous films Father of My Children (2009) and Goodbye First Love (2011), Eden is Hansen-Løve’s most sprawling film to date, incorporating multiple transnational locations and a diverse soundtrack made up of Daft Punk, Frankie Knuckles, Terry Hunter and Joe Smooth.
The film also stars Hugo Conzelmann, Roman Kolinka, Pauline Etienne and Greta Gerwig.
